Program Overview

The sport management program at Endicott provides you with academic knowledge and practical experiences that foster an understanding of and appreciation for the sport industry. You will gain knowledge from our academically rigorous program within a student-centered learning environment that promotes professionalism, collegiality, and scholarship, and benefit from hands-on learning experiences through our pioneering internship program.

Internships are a critical part of our curriculum, and they frequently lead directly to employment upon graduation. In sport management, internship opportunities typically include professional sport teams, intercollegiate athletics, sport marketing firms, amateur sports organizations, resorts, and health and fitness clubs.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the sport management program, students will:

  • Effectively analyze issues and challenges in sport management using critical thinking and decision making techniques.
  • Communicate effectively in written form within the conventions of the sport management discipline.
  • Apply the best practices of the sport management field in internship and professional settings.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the standards of ethical behavior as related to the sport management profession.
  • Demonstrate the critical inquiry and analysis skills needed to engage constructively in intellectual discourse within the discipline of sport management.

Fifth Year Sport Leadership Program

Recent college graduates (both Endicott or non-Endicott) are eligible to earn a sport leadership master's degree in this accelerated program that saves times and money.

The Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) is a specialized accrediting body whose purpose is to promote and recognize excellence in sport management education worldwide in colleges and universities at the baccalaureate and graduate levels.

Jenn Perella ’05 is a professional boxer proving that determination has no age limit as she balances an elite career in the ring with the demands of motherhood. A former Endicott field hockey standout and sport management major, Jenn transitioned from a successful amateur career to the professional ranks, where she currently holds a 4-1 record. For Jenn, the most important victory isn't in the ring—it’s proving to her kids that the only opponent worth beating is who she was yesterday.
