Program Overview

Endicott’s psychology program emphasizes the scientific study of individual and collective behavior, the social and cultural basis of behavior, and the analysis and treatment of behavior problems and disorders, making it ideal for students to move into any career associated with psychology, like:

  • Counseling
  • Therapy
  • Research
  • Community Management

In addition to the career areas mentioned above, our program will also prepare students for numerous careers outside of the field.

Coursework is engaging and ranges from child development to aging and adulthood, as well as psychological disorders and counseling techniques. You will receive a strong foundation in theoretical perspectives, research methods, and statistics, which will prepare you to contribute to the expanding field by collaborating with faculty on research projects, developing your own original questions, and pursuing your interests in advanced graduate study.

Psychology Electives

Psychology electives include any PSY course that are at 300-level, SM 306 Psychology of Sport and BUS 320 Organizational Behavior.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the psychology program, students will:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology.

  • Apply key elements of scientific reasoning and research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation of findings.

  • Use critical thinking and analytic skills to evaluate information, solve problems, and engage constructively in academic discourse.

  • Demonstrate awareness of ethical issues and apply psychological knowledge in ways that reflect respect for sociocultural and global diversity.

  • Communicate psychological concepts clearly and effectively in written, oral, and digital formats, following APA conventions. 

  • Apply psychological knowledge, skills, and values in real-world settings to support personal and professional development.
