Program Overview
Through liberal arts core courses, you will gain content knowledge in math, science, children’s literature, and history. Education courses focus on curriculum theory and design, special education, instructional technology, and key concepts and thinkers in the field. You will receive education and training for careers that do not require state licensure, such as day care centers, private schools, experiential education settings, and more.
This concentration does not lead to Massachusetts licensure. As such, your field experience will include internships during your freshman and sophomore years that allow you to build a resume and explore your interests, culminating in a semester-long internship in a setting of your choosing, rather than student teaching. At Endicott, our director of field placements will work with you individually to secure quality field placements that will help you reach your academic and career goals.
Fifth Year Master's and Endicott Fellows Program
As a graduate of the early childhood education program, you may apply to be an Endicott Fellow, completing a year-long fellowship on staff in a partnering school while receiving a tuition-free master's degree. Or, apply to complete a master's degree in education in one year of study beginning the summer after graduation.
