Randall Livingstone, a professor in the School of Social Sciences, Communication, & Humanities, has been nominated for Radio DJ of the Year at the 2026 Boston Music Awards (BMAs). Livingstone’s radio show happenstance is falling… is dedicated entirely to local music, and he serves as the advisor of Endicott’s community-run EC Radio.
Since launching his radio show in April 2023, Livingstone has interviewed several of Boston’s most-watched artists, including Today Junior, Megan from Work, Mallcops, and more, while recording more than 180 episodes. Working alongside Endicott students, he also produces happenstance at Gully’s, a concert series born out of the show.
“This wouldn’t be possible without the amazingly creative and supportive people in the Boston and New England music scenes,” said Livingstone. “There is no happenstance without this community. They rock.”
Nominees are chosen by the BMA Nomination Committee, which includes over 400 industry professionals, including music editors and journalists, promoters, agents, DJs, radio programmers, producers, managers, label reps, publicists, professors, and more.
The public can vote for their favorite nominees, and public voting counts for 50 percent. The BMAs will announce all winners at Big Night Live on December 16, 2026.
Since 1987, the Boston Music Awards have celebrated the heart of Boston’s music, honoring artists, industry leaders, and the community that connects them. Each year, the BMAs bring together performances, recognition, and collaboration across genres, spotlighting the people who make Boston’s music scene thrive.
