Endicott College’s Triumph Chapter of Mortar Board has earned national recognition from the Mortar Board National College Honor Society, including the Gold Torch Award, which celebrates chapters that executed and exemplified the Society’s core values of excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.
Endicott also received honorable mention for the Ruth Weimer Mount Chapter Excellence Award, which is given to a chapter that demonstrated excellence in chapter operations, advising, visibility, communications, and participation.
“I am incredibly proud of the dedication, leadership, and heart our members bring to everything they do,” said Dr. Sydney Riu ’20 M’21, CARE Case Manager at Endicott and Advisor of the Triumph Chapter of Mortar Board. “They continually embody Mortar Board’s values of scholarship, leadership, and service.”
Endicott’s Triumph Chapter of Mortar Board inducts 50 to 70 students each year. Gulls participate in various initiatives, including campus traditions, raising funds through Commencement flower sales, partnering with Relay for Life for the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, and serving the community through monthly service projects.
“Watching these students make a meaningful impact on our campus and beyond is one of the most rewarding parts of my role,” said Riu, “and I am excited to see all they will continue to accomplish together.”
