Endicott College recently joined the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED). CPED is a collaborative network of over 160 colleges and universities that are dedicated to ensuring that the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree remains a relevant and practical pursuit for practitioners.

In an ever-changing field, it is vital that education practitioners are given the knowledge and practical skills to improve educational outcomes by implementing evidence-based practices. Endicott’s mission is to develop transformative and socially responsible leaders who engage others, value diversity, and operate with the integrity needed to foster high-performing schools.

“Welcoming these fourteen new institutions marks an exciting moment for CPED,” said Dr. Jill A. Perry, Executive Director of CPED. “Each brings a distinct voice and commitment to transforming leadership in education. Together, we’re not just redesigning a degree—we’re reshaping how leaders are prepared to tackle real-world challenges with equity, innovation, and impact at the forefront.”

As part of CPED, member institutions engage in a vibrant professional learning community that supports faculty, students, and administrators through national dialogue, collaborative inquiry, and shared feedback. CPED continues to lead the way in advancing practice-based doctoral education by promoting the development of scholarly practitioners who integrate theory, research, and real-world experience to address pressing educational challenges.

Endicott College’s Ed.D. program blends research-based theory and practice to address various challenges faced in the field through coursework, research, apprenticeships, publications, and teaching experiences.

“We are thrilled to have joined and be among the larger consortium of CPED,” said Julie Calzini, Ed.D., Myrt Harper Rose Dean of Education at Endicott. “This partnership affirms Endicott’s commitment to empowering education leaders with the tools, resources, and collaborative spirit necessary to shape the future of learning. We look forward to contributing to, and learning from, the inspiring network of CPED institutions as we collectively transform this and future generations of educators.”
